Fees to expect:

Application fee: This is a non-refundable fee which the apartments charge to cover the cost of a credit check and verification of the information on your application. The average fee is around $35.

Security deposit: This deposit is almost always refundable, upon move-out, depending on the condition of the apartment. Deposits can range from $100 to $400 but some may ask for the "one month's rent" common in other parts of the country.

Cleaning fee: Ususally Non-refundable. It's applied to the turn-around costs of getting the apartment ready for the next renter. The average fee is $200 due upon at lease signing. This charge is only on apartment communities.

Pets: Las Vegas apartments are pretty pet friendly and are willing to accept pets under 20 lbs. with a deposit or fee of $200 - $300. Larger pets are a special situation but there are apartments that gladly accept them. Some apartments may charge an additional monthly "pet rent" on top of the pet deposit.
